The SMARTECH was designed to get the best out of the Eps and epoxy resin. The board is lighter, more resistant and faster – the ideal combination. For us every detail counts and we worked hard to make the SMARTECH, the best epoxy surfboard in the world!

SMARTECH TECHNOLOGY consists of high density EPS with a carbon stringer and epoxy resin. We removed the wood stringer and used carbon instead as a reinforcement, exactly where more resistance and hardness is needed. Three different fiberglass reinforcements going in 6 directions for more flex and strength than traditional eps constructions. The unique layering of materials provides pop and a really responsive shortboard.

Mesh color is a great reinforcement for surfboards.  It’s made with a blend of nylon, and unlike other reinforcement strips, it has no carbon fibre. It is flexible and allows the board’s natural flex patterns to remain.

WE COLLECT OUR WASTE EPS FOAM

We use our waste EPS foam in two aways, to packaging our boards and to turn it directly into a new surfboard blank.

You probably got it when you bought a new TV, computer, or some furniture. Most cities don´t let you recycle this, and it just feels wrong to throw it into the trash can. A much higher use for this foam is to turn it directly into a new surfboard blank.

Biobased resin makes thermoset epoxy systems for a new generation of products. Products that not only perform, but also take a crucial step towards lowering our impact on the environment.

 

MAKE THINGS CLEANER

Reduce your carbon footprint. By employing green chemistry techniques that require less energy and produce less harmful byproducts, we reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from production of our resins by 50% over conventional petroleum based epoxies. Using today’s modern Life Cycle Analysis techniques we can demonstrate how our resins can help your products reduce their environmental impact.

 

SUSTAINABILITY BY SHARED BIO MASS PIPELINE

Not all carbon is created equal. We replace petroleum based carbon with renewable plant-based carbon. The raw materials going into our resins are co-products or waste products of other industrially important processes. These materials do not compete with food sources or displace food-based agriculture. Using an international standard method of radio carbon dating, we verify the renewable content of the resins so you know exactly where they come from.

 

WHAT ARE CELLULOSE FIBERS? Nature’s factory

Trees are nature’s factories. They take simple ingredients like water, carbon, oxygen and nitrogen and turn them into complex molecules like cellulose fibers.

In fact, cellulose fibers are one of the world’s most useful and abundant natural materials. They are the main component of cell walls in most plants, and they give wood its strength and resilience. Essentially chains of linked sugar molecules, cellulose fibers are used in a variety of products — including textiles, paper and diapers — because of their strength, durability and ability to absorb and transport water.
