Now you can check all the VOLUMES of your boards. We have it available at http://matta.surf/volume-calculator/ , a tool where you can put the model and the measures you want and it will give you the exact volume of the board you have chosen.
What is Volume?The volume of your board is a measurement of the total amount of space that your board occupies. If your board was a perfect cube, then a simple length x width x height calculation would be all we’ll need. However, as your board is full of curves and concaves, the whole thing is a little more complicated. In the past, the only way of knowing, was to dunk your board in a bath, and see how much water was displaced and this is why we normally measure surfboard volume in Cubic Litres rather than Cubic Inches.
Why is Volume Important?Volume matters because it gives us a realistic idea of how big our boards are. Ever since the “Retro Revolution” of the early 2000’s, people have been riding an increasingly diverse range of surfboards, and now the standard 3 dimensions (length, width and thickness) don’t give us enough information to decide if a board will work for us or not, and you can shape 3 boards with the same dimensions, that look and surf very differently.
If you’re surfing in warm water and good waves, the lower end of the scale is recommended. If you’re surfing in poor conditions, looking for help in crowded situations, or wearing thick wetsuits, lean towards the higher end of the range that you fall into.

Cosmic Children Festival
The Cosmic Children 2016 presented by Vissla was fled by inspiring surfers from 4 continents and over 15 countries. And it was a real surf fiesta.
Thrills were assured, invoked sun although it rained for a while, waves, moon and stars, and the Cosmic Children received with honors the surfing beasts from the last few decades, in the unique Natural Park of Liencres, Cantabria, and the lighthouse of Santander.

MATTAshapes fortify their partnership with Creatures of Leisure. From now on our Mobile Surfboard test center will have the fins, leash and pads of Creatures of Leisure.
So, when you see the MATTAshapes van you can ask for a board or fins to go surf.

Cosmic Children Festival
XI Anniversary of the #CosmicChildrenFestival
When? 17-19 JUNE 2016. Where? Santander, Playa de Liencres.
The XI edition of the Cosmic Children Festival presented by Vissla is dangerously arriving to shore. Organizers refuses to announce all info yet, neither will comment who will be the inspiring surfers joining the cosmic crew this year.
Thrills are assured, invoked sun, waves, moon and stars, to receive honors the surfing beasts from the last few decades, in the unique Natural Park of Liencres (northern Spain, right by Santander).

Volcom TCT Hossegor and WSL Biscarrosse Pro Junior
Despite the bad forecast, the event was a blast ! More than 200 Kids signed up to the contest and enjoyed two days of small but playful Hossegor waves.
As some had to secure their spot for the TCT global Championships in Lower Trestles, California, there was some pressure on some surfers and the level of surfing and competitiveness was at its max…
Surfers from Portugal, Spain, Italy and Canary Islands made the trip to France and had to compose with all top French locals and regulars, which made for a big Euro surf gathering.
The tension and competition was fierce in the water but beach games and usual shenanigans kept the spirits high and jolly.

On April 28th, MATTAshapes x Creatures of Leisure joint the team and friends together for a Bbq at Surf Lounge in Hossegor France.
MATTAshapes took this opportunity to fortify their partnership with Creatures of Leisure. From now on our Mobile Surfboard test center will have the fins, leash and pads of Creatures of Leisure.
